Giovanni Esposito (far right) opened a butcher shop in 1932 in Hell’s Kitchen with his 3 sons Teddy
(on the right, standing next to his father), Armando (left center) and Anthony (not pictured).
The quality of the meats and their personal service soon became the formula for success as Esposito Meat Shop
developed a reputation as one of the finest butchers in NYC.
After all 3 sons served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, they continued their father’s tradition of quality
products and outstanding customer service. Teddy expanded the quality offerings to meet the changing needs of their
customers, who now came from all over NYC to shop at Esposito.
Today, Teddy’s son Robert (inset) is continuing the Esposito tradition of offering a wide range of meats and poultry to
both local customers as well as corporate accounts, continuing the legacy left to him by his grandfather, uncles and father.
